Kettle Cuisine Brings Fresh Ingredients from Their Kitchen to Yours

Written By:

The thought of a hot, fresh meal at the end of a long day many times never becomes a reality unless I settle for a frozen dinner that doesn’t really fill me up or a frozen pizza that leaves me feeling guilty. I never really satisfy my craving for wholesome, fresh ingredients unless I dedicate my entire night to cooking a meal.

When first introduced to the Kettle Cuisine all natural line, I was excited to put the hand-prepared frozen soup to the test. After a quick pop in the microwave, I took a pleasantly flavorful bite of the three bean chili. The promise of freshly cooked, from scratch ingredients came through in the flavor and texture of the beans and peppers.  This flavor was only my first test of one of the gluten free, dairy free, or vegetarian options offered by Kettle Cuisine. The Angus Beef Steak Chili and Thai Curry Chicken Soup also offered me a freshly prepared meal – straight from the freezer.

Offered in over 5,000 restaurants and supermarkets in the US, Kettle Cuisine brings a wholesome meal to the table without having to chop and stir your own ingredients. Prepared carefully by real cooks in the kitchen, Kettle Cuisine truly brings its value of fresh, wholesome, all-natural ingredients right to your table.

I carefully select food

I carefully select food products for snacks that have no more than 150 calories per serving. We drink lots of water and iced tea- no soda, ever! We use fresh or frozen veggies-the only canned vegetables are tomato sauce and diced tomatoes.

Also, we make most of our dinners are made from scratch to control fat and sodium content.

We eat a lot of berries and watermelon as our dessert, and I think we have finally broken the "cake and cookie" mentality that we used to think was necessary- now we all find those foods too sweet and shun them (most of the time)!

I always found that the most

I always found that the most important thing is about portions. It's okay to eat certain fatty foods etc, as long as it is not all the time and as long as it is in a portion fit for your body. I make sure all of our dinners are portioned well for each of us, most is prepared before hand to conserve time, and snacks are generally in ready made portion bags as well. It saves time and also makes sure we are eating right!

I cook on Sunday and freeze

I cook on Sunday and freeze for the week so we are not stopping for fast food.

I have recently been

I have recently been indoctrinated into what I jokingly call "forced health" with my diagnosis of Celiac's disease. So going through my pantry and taking out anything with wheat, barley, rye, or more insidious gluten has resulted in eating a lot of "whole" foods (nuts, fruit, vegetables, quinoa, and lean meats). Now I know that what I grab is going to be safe and healthy, and takes a lot of guesswork out of meal preparation.

I read the sales flyers from the local stores and make my list based on what's on sale.
I make meals around the sale items and make sure I buy the freshest vegetables and fruits that
are on sale that week. Our family loves pineapple, so I buy and cut up into Tupperware containers for an easy snack. You may pay more for baby carrots, but they are so easy to open the package and snack on-either plain or with ranch salad dressing.

Healthy eating habits despite

Healthy eating habits despite a busy schedule? That's a tough one!

Keeping healthy snacks on hand like fresh fruits and vegetables is a must.

I don't buy junk food. Instead, we reward ourselves with the not-so-healthy when eating out.

Having a plan each week helps, too. I try to cook healthy and balanced meals during the week, but we splurge on the weekend with pizza night!
