Ear Infection Help 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0

Ok ladies i need some help fast. My kiddo is 15 months old, no history of ear infections since birth. Now he has fluid in his ear that wont go away with out getting tubes put in (atleast thats what the pedi says.) we have a four year old also that needed tubes also. But heres my problem.

he has had fluid in his ears for 5 weeks now so he has been on meds for 5 weeks now. we are trying to get into the specalist as soon as we can.

but does anyone know of any ways to help get the fluid out of his ears until the surgery? any help would be great. Thanks to all

Take your baby to a Pedi Chiropractor. Is it an inner ear or middle ear infection? I took my son when he had an ear infection at about 13 months and the ear drained and he has not had an ear infection since. I have continued to take him and he is rarely ever sick. I would try this before having your child put under anesthesia.

I have to agree. If one of my children had ongoing ear infections, I would try a chiropractor too. I am a nurse and thought it sounded crazy at first, but I have heard and read that it can help. I start giving William Children's Benadryl when he has a lot of congestion. I give it to him at nap time and bed time so he will not be sleepy during awake times. I forgot to give it to him after Elizabeth was born and that was the first ear infection he has had since I started giving him Benadryl to him.

Don't do anything your doctor wouldn't recommend like sticking a q-tip way up his ear thats not recommended.Make sure your child is getting his daily required vitamins and minerals. Those are a benefit as well.

i wonder if ear candeling would be soothing. or a clove of garlic to draw out the infection.
why are the doctors wanting to put tubes in his ears if this is his first infection?? i dunno i'd wait a bit longer and try some home remedies before putting him under anestesia.

Before I did tubes I would talk to your Dr. about a decongestant. I treat all my kids ear infections with a prescription decongestant/antihistimine I got from my Dr. I have been doing lots of research that shows antibiotics do nothing for ear infections & the best way to treat them is with a decongestant that drains the fluid from the ear and my Dr. fully agrees with this treatment. I would try that before I put tubes in.
