She just won't put herself to sleep (1 viewing) (1) Guest
Sleep is important for every member of your family. Your children need sleep to grow and be healthy. School aged kids need sleep to be alert and successful in the classroom. And, of course, parents need sleep to keep up with their kids! Compare napping schedules, techniques to get your toddler to sleep, and tips for making sure mom gets enough sleep with other parents going through the same thing.

Both of my boys always fell asleep that way...but Dylan would wake up the min. I put him in his crib. Parker just would keep on sleeping so I was okay with it. Good luck I don't know what to do! I think bottles are so much easier on a parent when it comes to sleeping at least when I use to watch my nephew it was so much easier than nursing.

Well for her morning nap I let her CIO and she did that for about 10 minutes before going to sleep. We'll see how it goes for her second nap of the day.

I need to come up with a better eat, sleep schedule. I guess I can make that another post.

Does she take a pacifier? I always change Elizabeth's diaper after I feed her so that she will fall asleep on her own. She started taking a paci in the hospital, but I do not give it to her unless she has nursed for an hour (she is slow).

10 minutes is not bad to CIO. With William, we were on an eat, play, sleep cycle and that helped. He always fell asleep with his paci. I guess it is the same as falling asleep nursing so it really does not help unless she will take a paci.

I hope you are able to work it out.

I play Classical music almost every night for John, and it really helps. But I've played it for him when he was still in my belly. You could try some music. A routine every night. Like a story while you nurse, then put her down right before she falls asleep, and turn on the music. Or a mobile for her to watch, a toy you feel safe leaving in her crib. Good luck.
