With two teens of my own at home, I not only take the ever-present issue of teen pregnancy seriously, but I have recently read with alarm that it’s on the rise. From Jamie Lynn Spears and Bristol Palin to TV shows like MTV’s “16 and Pregnant,” teen pregnancy seems to have become the latest trend in Hollywood. Even ABC Family has joined the bandwagon with its hit series, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” which started its second season this week and follows the life of Amy, who, after giving birth to a son in the first season, moves easily between being a mother and a high school student with the help of her parents, friends, and the suddenly responsible baby’s father.

Being a Mom is more than a full-time job. Between managing schedules, preparing meals, breaking up fights and making sure my kids (or husband) don’t set the house on fire. I have a lot on my plate every day. And there have been times that I can’t help but wonder, "what if someone paid me to do this?!"
Well, Salary.com came up with a formula to calculate to what a Mom’s work is worth (financially, of course), and this Boston Working Mom of two teenagers would be making $85,953!!! In contrast, the Mom Salary Wizard has SAHMs earning roughly $50,000 more per year, because, in theory, they spend more time doing Mom tasks.

Here’s a story I thought I would never come across: according to MSNBC, not only are more and more dads staying home full-time to raise their kids, but their working wives are starting to feel “momblocked” as their partners take over the majority of the home and child-related responsibilities...
