Come and enjoy a unique mix of indie rock and kid’s music put on by Karen Kalafatas and her band, the Jitterbugs, at the Regent Theatre on Satuday, March 10th! Karen recently relocated to the Greater-Boston area and hopes to bring her fun, high energy retro music designed for newborns to five year olds to the area. Karen and her band work to create music for both families and children to enjoy and not only put on concerts drawing crowds of 400 plus people, but also teach classes focusing on vocal play, rhythm training, instrument exploration, and games.
The Jitterbugs recently released their debut album Pancakes for Dinner and were named a “Critics Pick” in Time Out New York Kids and in New York Magazine. While they work on their second album, they plan to perform at a number of locations in the Boston area this summer.

Shopping? Yes, please! When I received the invite to attend the opening of Nordstrom Rack in Burlington, MA I was out. of. my. mind. You want me to come check out the latest styles on amazing brands for a fraction of the price? No brainer. When I arrived, I was greeted by many friendly faces and a gift card to start my shopping. Sweet!
I was thrilled to see one of my favorite brands, Lucky, prominently displayed and tried on a few items for the affordable prices alone. I eventually settled on a gorgeous dress by MUSE that I cannot wait to wear to a dinner party in two weeks.
Since Nordstrom Rack also features children’s wear and an abundance of adorable shoes, I couldn’t help but pick up a pair of purple patent-leather Mary Janes for my little munchkin.

When is love not crazy and stupid? That is the question facing the characters in Crazy, Stupid, Love. I was given the opportunity to preview the movie early and found there was nothing stupid about it.
The movie follows Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) and his family as they struggle with that crazy, stupid thing called love. At the beginning of the film, Carell’s character learns that his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) has cheated on him with her co-worker David (Kevin Bacon). To make matters worse, she also tells him she wants a divorce.

Everyone looks forward to the Super Bowl in January, but June has an even bigger kind of bowl: the annual Jimmy Fund “Scooper Bowl” (the only one that encourages guilt-free consumption of mass amounts of ice cream).
From noon until 8pm on June 7-9th, Boston City Hall Plaza will be filled with more than 30 different flavors of ice cream along with other frozen treats from big names including Baskin Robbins, Ben & Jerry’s, Breyers, Friendly’s, Edy’s, and many more at the nation’s largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival.
Besides being delicious, the event also functions as an important fundraiser for the Dana-Farber Caner Institute. Since the “Scooper Bowl" began in 1983, it has raised over $2.9 million dollars for adult and pediatric cancer care and research with The Jimmy Fund.
General admission to the “Scooper Bowl” is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 3-9, and is free for children under age 3.
