A lot comes to mind when you think of Kelly Ripa. Perfect, perhaps. Thin, definitely. Funny and smart. Multi-tasker. Likes doing laundry? Apparently she does. After all, she personifies the all-American mom: intelligent, driven, hard-working, and genuine. So does laundry become just another part of this?
With three kids at home, a hit TV show, and a handsome husband, Kelly has a lot of keep her busy. Yet she relishes every role. I know because I recently had a chance to talk to her at the Electrolux and Ovarian Cancer Research Fund event in New York.
Kelly was not just sexy and skinny (even more so than on TV!), she seemed really thoughtful, reflective, and candid. Intelligent and articulate, she was a pleasure just to stand near, exuding passion and vivacity in a way very few can. Not to mention, she clearly takes her role as a hands-on mom seriously. As we stood before the sparkling new turquoise Electrolux washers and dryers, I found myself both impressed and engaged.
Of course, if you’re not Kelly Ripa, it seems more likely that not only do you not enjoy laundry - you downright hate it. As a mom, laundry becomes a constant; with spills, grass stains, dirty soccer uniforms, and multiple family members, there seems to always be a load waiting to get done. All of this adds up to many laundry baskets full of clothes and a lot of time taken out of your already busy day. Which Electrolux had in mind when they designed their latest appliances, which explains why their washers and dryers (like the rest of their appliances) help to make life a little easier for today’s busy moms.
Kelly helped Electrolux launch its new premium laundry collection, which fits the busy, on-the-go lifestyle that she – and all moms – experience. Laundry no longer takes too long; in fact, with the new Electrolux washer and dryer, your clothes can emerge clean and dry in 36 minutes total. Seriously. Not to mention the units are sleek, work quietly, help you do less ironing (who irons anyway?), have advanced washing and drying options, and prove eco-friendly, using 83% less energy than standard machines (and saving on utility bills!).
The colors and design are beautiful, especially the new Turquoise Sky washer and dryer, developed in support of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month (September). Electrolux is donating $200 from each pair purchased to help with the early detection and ultimate eradication of the disease. Which means these machines are not just attractive and effective – they support a great cause.
Whether you, like Kelly, love tossing in a load of laundry, or if washing clothes has rather become the bane of your existence, Electrolux helps you get the job done in style. For more information, visit the
Electrolux website.

Bonus: at the event, I picked up two Limited Edition T-shirts designed by Kelly to help you support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund on your body! Comment on this post for a chance to win one. And visit

Great article. I do see Kelly on TV and in the recent Electrolux ads. Always a bit suspicious of celebrities and their lives, it is great to hear more about her from one who has been around her. On another note, I wanted to make a comment about a laundry discovery. I moved into a new home that has the washer and dryer in a little closet right off the kitchen and with three young children (3 year old daughter and 15 month old twin boys) I do a lot a laundry. I have discovered that I don't mind doing laundry when it is so conveniently located in my kitchen in a specially designed cupboard. No more trudging down to the basement when the kids are in bed or taking them down there with me. I feel like I can get to the laundry easily and am more apt to get it from the washer to the dryer and folded in a timely fashion. I rarely notice it running. I love my laundry close to the kitchen.
