Madii & Dyl Children’s Pillow Giveaway!
When my daughter Brooke turned two, we embarked on the journey of transitioning her into a “big girl” bed. After selecting the bed, I spent what felt like weeks doing research on bedding. I think I put more effort into this than I did my own when registering for our wedding shower!
After making these big bedding purchases, I realized we needed to get a pillow as well. Up until this point, Brooke didn’t rest her head on anything in her crib, because she flailed around in her sleep a lot. But I knew she was old enough to get tucked in under the covers and snuggle with a pillow. With that said, I became stumped trying to find the right size pillow for her. I went to all the standard stores, only to find none small enough (and flat enough) for a little head.
Flash forward 18 months to the present, and the opportunity I was given to review a pillow collection especially made for children – I jumped at the chance! Madii & Dyl, an Australian children’s company recently launched in the U.S., features a line of pillows specially designed for little ones. They have three “stages” of pillows based on age:
- The “Sooki Babe”, a daytime pillow designed for infants that delicately cradles the head to help prevent roll-overs and flat-heads.
- The “Teenii Tot” toddler comfort pillow for children over 18 months.
- The “Mini Me” cozy kids pillow for children four years and up.
What I love most about this collection is that the pillows contain no chemicals, which helps to prevent the growth of dust mites, mildew and bacteria – something my husband and I appreciate, as my daughter is prone to allergies.
Mimi Me pillow review
We received the Mini Me to review with my daughter and she was so excited to have a brand new pillow! It’s the perfect size for her, just enough room for her head but not too overwhelming. It features a “flip-wave” design, which is tailored for growing children with one side slightly higher than the other. We’re starting on the lower side, which is relatively low to the mattress, but then can flip it over to the other side when she gets older and may need more support.
According to their website, the Mini Me is the only pillow that retains its shape after each and every wash. That’s pretty great! Just keep in mind this pillow is much smaller than a standard twin size, so your existing pillowcases will be too big. It does comes with its own white pillowcase, but if you want to use your own (because you may have spent a small fortune on coordinating bedding like we did!), you can easily fold the excess fabric over to keep it snug.
Cleansing Flannel Cloths, too!
In addition to pillows, Madii & Dyl also designs a really cool flannel washcloth. I was lucky to receive a sample, and couldn’t believe how soft and silky it felt! The super-soft texture is ideal for a little one’s sensitive skin, and then it hardens when dry to block out bacteria. As soon as you wet it again, it regains its softness – amazing!

We are moving our two-year old daughter to a "big girl bed" at Christmas since we will need the crib for a new baby in the spring. My daughter is already protesting leaving her bed whenever we talk about it. A new pillow would be a wonderful incentive for the move! This would be awesome!!!

This would be great for my 4yr old son. He tosses an turns trying to get comfortable on his adult size pillow, most nights opting for sleeping without it. I've found it on the floor, beside him and standing up against his headboard. Pillow pets don't work either, it would be nice to give him something his size to try.

I like that the contours naturally conform to the child's head providing vital support for proper neck and spine alignment. This would be great since my little one just moved to a big bed.

My son would love the MINI ME
My son would love the MINI ME pillow. Not only is it good for home, it's a great size for travelling!! He always complains he has nowhere to lay his head if he wants to rest in an airplane or on long car trips.

I have a 3 yr old who is
I have a 3 yr old who is quite tiny. She goes to bed with her head on the great, big pillow, but she's never on it when it's time to awaken. This tells me that she must not be very comfy on the "normal" adult pillow she has. I'll bet she'd love one of these "just my size" pillows. Heck, her 6 yr old sister would probably prefer one of these mini-pillows as well!
