As more and more people make the switch from plastic to reusable water bottles, the question remains stainless steel or aluminum? Sigg, Nalgene or Klean Kanteen?

As the debates carry on, I’ll add a new option (and my current obsession) into the mix: Earthlust Stainless Steel Water Bottles.

Protecting the environment

clip_image004Eathlust owner Allison was inspired to launch the company when her first child was born and protecting his health as well as the environment became a top priority. Made of high quality food grade stainless steel with non-toxic paints, the San Francisco-based bottles have a naturally safe unlined interior and come in a variety of beautiful, fun designs. Now, with two children and an ever-expanding product line, Earthlust is gaining visibility and popularity in the reusable water bottle arena.

The bottles come in 1 liter, 20 or 13 ounce sizes and can be easily cleaned with baking soda or diluted vinegar to preserve the clean natural taste. An easy, stylish way to green your routine, these bottles’ design keeps water cool and the smaller mouth opening helps prevent spills and drips.

One of my favorite Earthlust additions is the new Birds & Bees bottle system, a stainless steel sipper that changes from a nipple top for babies to a sippy cup for toddlers as your child grows. Completely BPA free, dishwasher safe, insulated, and extra durable, the product features caps with ounce markings, two nipple flow options and removable handles.

Doing good

Committed to doing their part, this month, EarthLust will donate 50% of the proceeds from their 20-ounce Heart bottle to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

And, for every person that becomes a fan of EarthLust on Facebook, the company will donate $1 to help provide safe drinking water for villages worldwide!

So take some time to check out the bottles for yourself - I’ve been using the crow bottle (apparently designed by Allison herself from a picture she took on a family walk on Treasure Island in San Fran) for a while now and couldn’t be happier with it.
