Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop offers a greener way to clean floors
Mopping has come a long way in the past few years. From disposable floor cleaning pads to all-in-one cleaning solutions, our ancestors who scrubbed wood flooring on their hands and knees are surely waving their fingers at us when we dare to complain.
Yet with all the technical advances, we seem to have taken many green steps back.
Disposable cleaning is not always green
When we look at all the various cleaning systems out there, sure it feels most sanitary to toss a used cleaning pad, toilet sponge, antibacterial wipe, or duster into the trash.
But that is only increasing our amount of trash. Besides, do you really know what chemicals are in those premade, pretreated items?
Rubbermaid Reveal let's you do floors your way
I recently saw a coupon in my weekly paper for a Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop. What I noticed first is that the spray bottle is empty, and reusable! This means you can create your own, green cleaning solution and refill the bottle as necessary.
REFILL - that's another word for not throw away. So again, this product gets points for keeping plastic bottles our of our landfills.
Make or buy reusable cleaning pads
The second thing I noticed about the Rubbermaid Reveal is that it comes with a reusable cleaning pad that you can wash when you are through cleaning.
Want more? You can make your own! I had already figured out that by using scraps of old towels under my floor cleaner I would save lots of money on refill pads, but it's' also much greener. I have enough rags to get me through the whole first floor of my house. I pop them in the laundry when I'm done and they are ready for next time.
