Here’s something that anyone who is a mom – or has a mom – will be able to appreciate. Postcards From Yo Momma is a clever site that was started by two women, Doree Shafrir and Jessica Grose, who would gather and share funny messages from their mothers. Eventually, inspiration struck and spawned a website that almost immediately started receiving thousands of submissions.
Postcards From Yo Momma now includes pages full of messages, most unintentionally funny, some surprising, and a number of them sweet, all from mothers to their kids. There is even a book now in the works. "We started it on a lark. We never thought people would get so excited,” Grose says in an article in
Newsweek.
Yet the messages are not only funny and heartfelt, they are something everyone can relate to. From the pointed (“std’s are on the rise.
love, mom”) to the protective (“You will too get married (if that is what you want). My daughter is a nice person…just let me at that person who called you a late 20’s bitter female”), these are messages that will having you smiling, laughing, and emailing your own mom. To see for yourself, visit the site
here.
