breakfastbreaksThanks to Breakfast BREAKS, mealtime on the go with kids has never been easier. Camp Baby

I may be the slowest blogger to write about Camp Baby out there (in fact talking with and reading the posts of my colleague bloggers I am sure of this!), but there was so much to think about and reflect upon, and suddenly writing a thoughtful blog took quite a bit of time.

Invite 55 prominent Mom bloggers to gather (all expenses paid) at a corporate-sponsored event, as Johnson & Johnson did recently at Camp Baby held in Hackensack, New Jersey, and watch the online fireworks begin before anyone has even arrived.

Perhaps blogstorm is the most appropriate description.

citymomsAlthough at one time young professionals who started having babies packed their bags and headed for the sprawling lawns, minivans, and block parties of the suburbs, it seems that the face of young parenthood is changing for many city couples today.

Following in the footsteps of many New York-based celebrities who raise their children in the city, more and more young families are viewing city parenthood as a natural step. And cities from New York and Chicago to L.A. and Seattle have all been responding. With news of more kid-friendly restaurants, an expansion of public parks and playgrounds, and even nightclubs making way for the kiddie scene with designated nights of music and activities for babies and toddlers, the city offers a new draw that suburbs just can’t match.

mattdamonMost parents know the value of a good hand-me-down. But thanks to Johnson’s and a few celebrities, their value has gone way up. In Johnson’s first ever Celebrity Hand Me Down charity auction, which runs on eBay through May 9, celebrity parents like Matt and Luciana Damon, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Mariska Hargitay have put some of their favorite baby items up for auction.

daycareParents know that any number of kids in close proximity can mean germs spreading like wildfire – and, subsequently, an infection that takes down your entire family one by one. But new reports by researchers also describe surprising benefits that can come from putting kids in daycare.

The report by American researchers, presented at a conference in London, claims that kids in daycare or other playgroups are 30% less likely to develop a common form of childhood leukemia than those who do not have this same interaction. This was especially true for those kids who started daycare as early as 1 or 2 years old.
