You forgot your house keys for the third time, can’t remember where you parked the car, and got dressed wearing two different shoes this morning. And so you blame it on the fatigue that comes from having a new baby at home, right? That may not be entirely true, according to a new study done at the University of Richmond.
Apparently, although many women experience “baby brain” while pregnant (remember completely forgetting about that doctor’s appointment or showing up for your lunch date with friends two days early?), this effect does not continue after giving birth. Additionally, the difficulties you experience completing simple tasks or remembering things (which, experts claim, is akin to the memory problems of a healthy 60-year-old) stems from a restructuring of the brain in preparation for motherhood. In fact, researchers now say that a woman’s post-partum brain experiences what is essentially a “supercharge.”

A lot comes to mind when you think of Kelly Ripa. Perfect, perhaps. Thin, definitely. Funny and smart. Multi-tasker. Likes doing laundry? Apparently she does.
