* Mom Central received a complimentary Signature 10¼” Cast Iron Skillet and 4-quart Saucepan from Le Creuset in order to facilitate this review. All of the opinions expressed are our own.

Most of the time, my shopping is conducted with reliability and value in mind. But other times, I know exactly what I want and I’m willing to pay top dollar to get the very best. I’ve always viewed Le Creuset as the Cadillac of cookware: with top-of-the-line quality, style and functionality, and certainly capable of helping bring my cooking skills to the next level!

For nearly a hundred years, Le Creuset has been finessing both its cookware and its reputation as a high-quality manufacturer of world-class cookware and kitchen utensils. From its original flame-colored French Oven to its heritage stoneware, Le Creuset’s classic designs prove immediately recognizable, and complement any décor.

Perfect for making homemade pasta sauces, handmade meatballs, and even pesto, the Le Creuset Stainless Steel 4-quart Saucepan has motivated me to truly experiment with my cooking. When you see the saucepan’s stunning shine and sleek design, it’s obvious that Le Creuset caters to the serious cook. That said, I’m no expert, although I felt like one with this tool. Its design, even cooking and durability make this pan an unparalleled addition to any kitchen.

Le Creuset's Stainless Steel 4-quart Saucepan
All of the stainless steel products from Le Creuset offer a triple-layer bonded system, in which an aluminum core resides between two layers of premium-quality stainless steel. This makes this pan optimized for use on all cooktops, including induction.

From the stay-cool handles to the “all-round” lip designed for drip-free pouring, making transitions between ingredients with this pot is worry-free. The not-quite-professional chef in me also appreciated the interior capacity markings (easy measuring!), and the steam vent and flat rim of the lid (no messy overflow!).

The next tool that I tried was Le Creuset’s new and improved Signature Cast Iron Skillet. In their latest color, Palm (a cool green), the heartier handle allowed me to maneuver this heavy skillet with ease.

As with all of Le Creuset’s skillets, the satin black enamel cooking surface resists wear from use and high temperatures, and is great for stovetop searing, simmering or frying. The cast-iron handle proves suitable for both the oven and grill, and with its smooth enameled base, this skillet works well on glass topped hobs as well.

Le Creuset offers multiple lines of cookware that remain unparalleled in durability, ease of use, and craftsmanship. And while the company’s high-end cookware requires a bit of splurging, you can rely on these items to be staples in your kitchen for years to come, and prove worthy of an investment.

The Le Creuset Stainless Steel 4-quart Saucepan is available for $200, and the Signature Cast Iron Skillet is available in 10¼” starting at $150. Both of these items and more from Le Creuset can be found at the brand’s website.
