The Last Refuge, My Summer Refuge
After a long week of work and mundane errands, nothing enticed me more than a new summer read, hot off the press. The Last Refuge: A Dewey Andreas Novel, Ben Coes’ third political thriller, kept me up all night. From the streets to New York to the roads in Tel Aviv, Coes brings his readers along on an intense, face-paced rescue mission. Nothing sparks my imagination like Coes’ series about the clandestine world of the CIA.
Ben Cose, a speechwriter in the White House under Present Reagan and George H.W during the Gulf War, utilizes his career experience to tell convincing, heart-stopping novels.
Reading often falls to the bottom of my to-do list because of a plethora of other tasks throughout my week. After delving into The Last Refuge, reading will no longer take a back seat to other tasks this summer.
Disclosure: Mom Central received a copy of The Last Refuge to facilitate this review.
