DisneySure, it’s true that many more organic and all-natural foods are available nowadays in even the smallest of grocery stores – and at prices once unimagined. But sheer availability and convenience doesn’t mean that our kids are going to eat them, which any mom who has tried to switch her family to a healthier lifestyle may quickly have realized.

So what might inspire our kids to eat healthier? (Other than our constant nagging, bribing, and even begging, of course.) Well – Disney. With the recent launch of Disney Garden, a character-themed brand of healthy snacks and side dishes for kids, children everywhere will be eating healthy, and enjoying it, in no time.

Although everyone should be eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables everyday, even adults (an estimated 90%!) aren’t getting enough, let alone their less-aware and pickier children. Hence the recent trend in kid-friendly health food, which has been met with mixed success so far.

But as all parents know, kids love nothing if not their favorite Disney characters, whose movies and books they seem never to tire of. Hopefully the same will be true of their favorite characters’ food – which includes Finding Nemo and Cars-themed dried fruit and nut mixes, packaged Incredibles apple slices, and even character-themed broccoli, carrots, and sugar snap peas. Meant for mealtime at home, at school, and even for on-the-go snacks, the new line of foods are not only attractively packaged, but meet guidelines for limits placed on fat, calories, sugar, and sodium.

Making food fun has always been the best way to get kids to eat well, and Disney knows how to make anything fun. Hopefully that means that this is one new healthy option that parents and, even more importantly, kids will love.
