Mom Central received The SodaStream Source in order to facilitate this review. The views expressed here are entirely our own. Sparkling water proves big these days at Mom Central – so big that the review of SodaStream couldn’t be contained in just one installment. Mom Central CEO Stacy DeBroff offers her family’s experience with SodaStream, while her colleague Stephanie Kaufman weighs in with her perspective. Read on to see what bubbles up! Stacy’s Review As a sparkling water enthusiast, I’ve fallen completely in love with The SodaStream – yet it almost didn’t happen. For a long while, I resisted because the “soda” portion of the name completely distracted me. My college-aged kids certainly drink enough soda – both with and without Mom-approval. And for me, my own soda vice leans in a very specific direction, so if I do want a quick soda fix, I find myself craving the secret formula brewed by the folks at Diet Dr. Pepper.

kids playing video games
Stacy DeBroff is a spokesperson for Busch Gardens Tips on Jumpstarting Natural Fun this Summer As most of us Moms know too well, kids today spend a significant amount of time indoors tethered to technology. From weekday afternoons huddled in front of gaming consoles to weekends spent downloading the latest Smartphone app, we’ve now raised a generation of digital natives. What’s more, our kids now experience a childhood very different from the ones we remember. Back in our day, our Moms opened up the screen door on a summer day and told us “Go outside and play!” And we did, playing with friends from the neighborhood, roller skating, and concocting elaborate games of Capture the Flag. By contrast, our kids now sport “Natural Fun Deficiency.” They rarely play outside unless as part of organized sports or camp, with a coach nearby carrying a whistle and a clipboard.
WaterPik Rainfall+ Rain Shower Head
Waterpik RainFall+ Rain Shower Head is a client of Mom Central. Warmer weather is here, and I thought in addition to taking on some spring cleaning this year, I would take on some simple home improvement projects. I decided to start with the bathroom, and transformed my shower experience with the WaterPik Rainfall+ Rain Shower Head. This Waterpik showerhead took my morning shower from routine to luxurious in just a matter of minutes. The product is so easy to install that even those of us who are terrified of D-I-Y projects can handle it! I simply unscrewed my old showerhead, cleaned around the base of the shower pipe, and screwed in the new parts. Using pipe tape is recommended if your current shower pipe is older or you are having difficulty screwing it in.

Cooper Tires
Mom Central was invited to a press event by Cooper Tires. The views expressed here are entirely our own. Last week, I was driving along the freeway with all three Ms (my boys all have M names) in the car. I wasn’t following too closely, I had my eyes on the road, and both hands on the wheel. I was doing everything right, and we were all buckled in safely. All of a sudden, the cars in front of me started swerving to get out of the way of something in the road. Before I could think, the tangled, five-foot-long piece of metal that would certainly annihilate my car if I drove over it was in front of me. I had just enough time to swerve to the left and missed the object by inches. I swerved right back into my lane. The whole incident happened in less than 10 seconds. My boys were a bit freaked out, but we were all grateful no one was hurt and the situation wasn’t 10 times worse.

Bee Raw Honey
Mom Central received samples of Bee Raw Honey in order to facilitate this review. The views expressed here are entirely our own. There’s a new beekeeper in town, and we are all abuzz! After having the chance to try several flavors of pure, raw, unprocessed honey from Bee Raw (a Brooklyn-based company serving up fresh, unique varietals of honey – more than we ever knew existed!) we are SWEET on this up-and-coming company. Growing up on his family’s Northwestern Pennsylvania farm, Bee Raw Honey Founder Zeke Freeman gained an appreciation for homegrown, artisanal food products. Combining this sentiment with a culinary passion strengthened by years in France working with esteemed chefs like Alain Ducasse, Zeke, together with his wife Marissa, now proudly partners with family owned beekeepers around the country and ships nationwide from their Brooklyn, NY headquarters.
Capturing Couture’s Camera Strap
Disclosure: Mom Central received a complimentary camera strap in order to facilitate this review. The views expressed here are entirely our own. On weekends I moonlight as a wedding photographer, often trotting around the New England coast to capture brides live out the big day they have been dreaming of since they were little girls. While seeing brides, grooms and guests dressed in their splendor, I usually don an inconspicuous black attire that allows me to sneak about to get the perfect “in-between” moments that make looking back on the day that much more enjoyable. Being a “girly-girl,” my black on black on black outfit doesn’t always satisfy my inner-fashionista so when Capturing Couture sent me a fashion-forward camera strap I had to give it a try.
TX Bar Organics: Grass-Fed Organic Meats
Disclosure: Mom Central received samples of TX Bar Organics in order to facilitate this review. The views expressed here are entirely our own. I love working with vegetarians! When TX Bar Organics contacted our vegetarian business development team in Mom Central’s New York office, they knew the opportunity to review their 100% grass-fed, organic beef would certainly appeal to one of our Boston office carnivores. Lucky me! A 10 ounce bone-in rib eye, a six ounce New York strip and four quarter-pound beef patties arrived frozen in time for my first outdoor grill session of the season.
