Mom Central received ECCO shoes to facilitate this review. All opinions are our own. It’s been the winter of the polar vortex, and I’ve never been more excited for Spring. While I’m a fan of seasons (and enjoy the various fashion options each inspire) I don’t think I’m alone in wishing spring a fond welcome after a winter of covering up in many layers of scarves, warm boots, down jackets, and the works. Over the weekend, I was very excited to switch out my sheepskin boots with these beautiful ECCO Pretoria Laser Cut Pumps. As with all other ECCO styles I’ve tried, these shoes proved to be strikingly unique and comfortable. The pumps made their “Spring Forward” debut as I met friends for brunch, then caught an off-Broadway play, and rounded out the day with a wine and cheese pairing – all the while feeling comfortable as ever in my new heels. My friends loved these shoes, and were quite taken by the laser cut design as well as the sturdy pump heel.

Aerosoles Bright Ora and Acoustic
Mom Central received samples to facilitate this post. All opinions are our own. When summer arrives, we seem to immediately make the switch from closed-toed shoes to flip flops. Because they are so comfortable, we tend to justify that flip flops can be a match for every outfit. We purchase them in a variety of colors, and may even reserve a few pairs that have an extra accessory or pattern as our “dressier” option. We’re here to tell you that there is a whole world of summer shoes out there that have the comfort of a flip flop (if not more!), but the style and trendiness that the season’s clothes look great with. What we are describing may just be the perfect summer shoe, and can be found at Aerosoles.
Texas de Brazil
Mom Central attended an event hosted by Texas de Brazil. All opinions are our own. When planning to go out to dinner as a family, we look for those tried and true restaurants that we know will please everyone’s palate. But we want to go somewhere that will prove to be a memorable experience. Too often this means we fall into a habit of going to the same restaurant. However, after visiting the latest location of the Texas de Brazil restaurant chain in midtown Manhattan, I’m encouraging families to think differently the next time you’re planning a dinner out.
EnChroma Digital Color Boost Sunglasses
To facilitate this review, Mom Central received a review pair of EnChroma’s UV450 Digital Color Boost Sunglasses. The views expressed here are entirely our own. When we hear about new technological advancements, we immediately think about the latest innovations to our tablets, phones, and computers. EnChroma has brought this level of exciting tech innovation past our screens to sunglasses, with dramatic results. EnChroma’s Digital Color Boost UV450 sunglasses provide a level of brightness, contrast, and clarity of color that had everyone in our office who tried them on all taking one step back and declaring, “WOW!” as they looked out our windows at vibrant green trees, colorful spring flowers, and a strikingly blue sky. Best of all, they combine a high level of protection for our eyes from damaging light, while looking like a super cool pair of fashion forward designer sunglasses.

Mom Central received a Coastal Dog Malibu Bathing Suit to facilitate this review. The views expressed here are entirely our own. After a harsh New England winter and a chilly spring that only had a handful of days above 50 degrees, I’m finally cleaning out my closet to make room for my summer wardrobe. I packed the reminders of the cold weather and snow and made space for my sandals, shorts, and t-shirts. While bringing out my warm weather clothes, I found my swimsuit. Instantly, I had flashbacks of last summer and the good times I had at the beach on Martha’s Vineyard with my friends. I haven’t worn my swimsuit since that trip last August. I began drooling just thinking about the hot sun and the cool waves crashing on the shore. I can’t wait to wear my bathing suit this summer and relax on the beach for a much-needed lazy summer afternoon.
Better Hearing & Speech Month
Disclosure: The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is a client of Mom Central Consulting. With some schools already dismissed for the summer and others winding down, kids across the country are embarking on the biggest academic break of the year. While summer proves a great opportunity for kids to get outside, exercise, enjoy camp, and spend time with friends, these weeks and months away from academics can also prove challenging. With so much time away from structured learning, kids often forget what they studied during the previous school year and regress to the point that teachers typically start off the new school year by reviewing material already covered. Moreover, figures from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association show that public schools provide an estimated 13% of American kids with special services – including assistance for speech and language impairment – and when the school year ends, kids who receive these school-based services run the risk of losing ground during the summer.
Mom Central was invited to an event at the Build-A-Bear Workshop in NYC to facilitate this review. All opinions are our own. We owe so much gratitude to our troops, who dedicate so much of their time to protecting our freedom as Americans. One of the many sacrifices that members of our military make is time away from their families. The USO has partnered with Build-A-Bear Workshop to support the “Every Moment Counts” campaign, which creates moments that matter for our troops and their families. Mom Central attended an event where we learned more about this partnership, as well as Build-A-Bear’s support of the Huggable Heroes initiative. With Every Moment Counts, Build-A-Bear is helping families enjoy special moments together. Where moms and dads in the military can miss holidays, birthdays, and other special family moments, Build-A-Bear is working to bring extra joy into the lives of military families for other moments where families have precious time to spend together. At the event, children from St. Aloysius School in Harlem made bears that will be donated to military families.
Legoland Discovery Center in Somerville, MA
Mom Central was invited to a media event to cover the opening of Legoland Discovery Center. All opinions are our own. My four-year-old is a girly girl. Something about the insistence of tutus, tiaras and impromptu renditions of Frozen’s “Let It Go” in the supermarket aisles makes me scratch my head and wonder how she got this way. So when we were invited to go check out the new Legoland Discovery Center in Somerville, MA, I worried she might be bored. Sure, we play with Legos at home, but only the pink ones.
