Living in the city, dashing between work, meetings, dinner with friends, and home, doesn’t leave much time for wardrobe changes or room in our bags for an extra pair of shoes. While we at Mom Central want to look stylish and put together throughout the day, comfort, especially in heels, is a must. Quality and versatility rank at the top of the list of key features we look for in a shoe brand. Mom Central put a few of the new styles to the test from the Ecco Shoes Spring 2013 Collection, and are happy to report that these shoe styles passed the test with flying colors! Chia seeds have become the latest health-food craze—and for good reason. Nutrient-rich chia seeds prove beneficial when it comes to a host of health and exercise concerns.
We recently tried Health Warrior Chia Bars, our first time testing out this healthful seed. If Aztec warriors were able to build an entire empire from the power of chia seeds, we thought we’d give it a try, too.
The Health Warrior Chia Bars not only tasted great, but also kept us fuller—and for longer when compared to other nutritional bars. Not surprising, because the chia seed—the Health Warrior Chia Bar’s main ingredient—gels, allowing the bar to sustain you for a greater period of time.

Minutes before you’re set to be at fundraiser event or girls night out with friends, you realize the shirt you’ve been longing to wear boasts a bevy of wrinkles. With minutes to spare, you wait for your iron to heat up. Then you begin to iron and notice that the steam canister has leaked all over your new silk blouse. What now?
With the Sensor Velocity Steam Iron from Reliable, you no longer need to live in fear of your iron ruining a garment moments before you’re set to wear it. A truly revolutionized iron, the Velocity puts your old stand-by iron to shame.

I typically blame a bad hair day on lack of promised results from specially designed hair products including shampoos and styling balms. However, I was recently made aware of how water can effect your hair’s health. Since most of us don’t filter the water in which we bathe, chlorine and minerals can deeply damage your hair.
The T3 Source Showerhead is designed to enable you to achieve healthy, shiny hair right from your shower head. By filtering harsh chlorine and minerals out of your shower water, hair becomes more manageable. By removing up to 95% of chlorine, this filter works to eliminate that straw-like feeling often felt after washing and styling hair, and even works to retain the vibrancy of color-treated tresses.

Growing teenagers seem to have bottomless stomachs and endless appetites—constantly reaching for snacks and mini-meals, while also learning to create and cook meals for themselves. But for those with gluten intolerance or celiac disease, cooking can be limiting and frustrating.
Caryl Berghoff, Chef and restaurateur, was bewildered by her daughter’s sudden onset of sickness, and soon discovered that she was severely gluten-intolerant. Learning to cope with her new limitations and through trial and error, Caryl and her daughter, Sara set out to create fun, inspired gluten free meals for the whole family.

Whether it’s time to take a much-needed family vacation, you work long hours, or you have a Saturday full of marathon errands – we often face the dilemma of who’s going to watch the dog? This extremely important member of the family must be taken care of to ensure its daily routine of exercise, rest, food and love and affection are provided. When pet parents determine their schedules, a major factor becomes arranging proper care for their four-legged friend. But how do you decide who will care for your pet in your absence?
I had the opportunity of touring the Pooch Hotel, owned by Petco, in Newton, Mass., that provides luxurious doggie daycare services for our fur babies when scheduling conflicts take us away from our everyday routines with them. I joined my colleague Maria and she brought her dog Farley to experience some of the “top dog” services that the Pooch Hotel provides.
