When welcoming a baby into the world, new parents are also welcomed into the “swaddle society.” All parents try out swaddling, and the majority of babies love being wrapped in their little blanket cocoons. That’s why swaddles are found on many baby registries and as a part of new baby gift packs. I know that I’m looking forward to wrapping up our little one, which is why I was so excited to learn about the new brand buttermilk babies.

Launching this spring, buttermilk babies is a Texas-based brand offering a “new way to swaddle” with fun and humorous designs. Prints include gemstones, graffiti, and my personal favorite, Zoonicorns – featuring zoo animals all outfitted with unicorn horns. I love it. Swaddles from buttermilk babies are different from the typical designs found in most baby retailers so they make great gifts for parents who appreciate standing out.

A special blend of cotton and bamboo rayon is used, and the material was extremely soft to the touch, even before washing. The blankets measure 47 inches by 47 inches, and are very easy to maintain. I also love the versatility. If your baby doesn’t love to be swaddled, these blankets won’t go to waste. They’re also great as stroller covers, receiving blankets, burp cloths and more.

The brand itself has a great personality that corresponds with its fun designs. There’s a sense of warmth and friendliness that goes along with a purchase from buttermilk babies. I loved the recipe for Nanny’s Buttermilk Biscuits that came with my order. My husband was equally exited about the “How to Swaddle” cheat sheet. “Finally!!” he said. Yes, there are easy-to-follow swaddle directions on the back of each box, but the four-step pocket-sized guide really won over my husband. I have a feeling that I have a future swaddle master on my hands!

The buttermilk babies swaddles come in packs of  four and retails for $75. You can choose from two themes – the Signature Series and the Tough Cookie Series. Each comes your choice of color palette from warm pinks to cool blues and gender-neutral black/white and gray.

Swaddles can be purchased at buttermilkbabies.com. We have a feeling this will quickly become one of your go-to baby brands!
