Back in 2001 I had hodgkins lymphoma which is a form of cancer. I went through chemo and radiation and am now considered cured, however I still have to go back every year for a check-up. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that there are some lumps in my right breast. I figure it is probably from breastfeeding, but i mentioned it to the doctor today at my appointment anyway. She did an exam and said that it did feel lumpy, but that she doesn't feel any masses. She wants me to go for an ultrasound anyway just to make sure nothing is going on.
I really don't think it is anything, but of course I am already nervous. With everything that just happened with my mom I'm not sure I could deal with cancer again. I have to go Monday afternoon to have the ultrasound done. I already have butterflies in my stomach due to my nerves. This weekend is going to be awful. Sunday is my mom's birthday too so that is going to be another tough day for me.
((Hugs)) It's hard to know what to say. We are here for you. I hope that everything goes okay and that all the results come back as negative and that everything is just fine. It's hard not to think about your mom, I know with you having a new baby (you and your mom are on in my mind). Keep a positive attitude and make sure you follow up and that's all you can do. We will be sending all the best happy good feeling vibes we can your way!!!! I can't imagine what it's like, all I can say is that we are here for you. You are doing a great job keeping it together.
