breastfeeding question 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I just had my baby, shes 1 week old. I'm breastfeeding her. My question is when I change her diaper her stool is like water. Is this because of the breastfeeding? She goes to the doctor on thursday but i just thought I would ask on here

Well I wouldn't call a breastfed babies bowel movements like water, but they are pretty runny. My daughter is over 6 months and breastfed and her stool is still pretty runny.

My daughter is 6 weeks old and has had pretty watery, loose poop since she was born. I've been breastfeeding her since day 1.

Yep, that sounds about normal. My daughter is almost nine months and I am still breastfeeding her. She eats most solids now so her stools are a little different. But before that they were sweet smeeling, yellow and soft. Sometimes they were runny, sometimes they were seedy. If you are still concerned you can always take a daiper in at your babies next appointment. Your Dr should be able to tell you more but it really does sound normal. Remember, her digestive system is just getting used to your milk.
