Well I'm not complaining too much b/c before it was too hard just getting her to eat any vegetables but now the only thing Lela wants eat are frozen green beans and frozen corn. I try to squeeze other things in there but she'd prefer to eat just that for all her meals every day. Is that bad? I don't want to say b/c it is good for her but I do tell her that she has to eat something else with it... Should I continue to let her eat them?
a veggie is a veggie in my eyes. My girls love brocolli and green beans so i buy them the most. Dont give up on trying. Corn isnt the best thing to give them bc it really has nothing in it and it goes right through you. I say its fine just keep trying the other stuff
I serve balanced meals. If William were only eating those two veggies, I would only serve one with a meal. For example, chicken, green beans and rice or chicken, corn and broccoli. I would just keep trying to introduce new veggies. William goes through phases lately. He loved boiled eggs for a while and then decided he could only eat the "peel" which is the white part of the egg.
I say if she is willing to eat the green beans then keep feeding them to her. Just be sure to continue introducing new vegetables to her. Even if she doesn't eat them now she will eventually.
The only vegetables I can get Lauren to eat are peas and sometimes carrots. I keep putting a vegetable on her plate though. I am confident that one day she will start eating them.
Brie is right about corn. It doesn't have any real nutrional value. It isn't bad for you, but it doesn't really constitute a vegetable.
I do feed her balanced meals. Just sometimes she'll ask for them with lunch, for snack and with dinner. I will try giving her other vegetables... but I hate wasting food... maybe she'll start liking them.
William is odd. He will suddenly decide he likes a food that he would not eat before. We had people over for my bday. Rob bbq'd ribs and chicken. I made "crunchy" slaw (Ramen noodles, broccoli and broccoli slaw mix) and other veggies. William walked over to my friend's husband and asked for a piece of broccoli and then more. I have put it on his plate many times, but he refused to eat it. Suddenly he eats it raw? I don't get it. Anyway, he has eaten it since and any way I prepare it. Tonight he refused to eat lentils even though he likes them or did before tonight. If he does not eat then he does not get anything else. I will get him to take "one more bite" of whatever on his plate is best for him and then offer dessert which is an organic yogurt popsicle. I make him stay at the table to eat it and he will usually start eating some of his dinner after finishing his popsicle. You can even freeze Gogurts which I had done when I cannot fnd Stoneyfield farms brand. We had artichokes tonight and I knew William would not be interested. He was too tired to even consider something new. I put a handful of frozen peas on his plate since they are always a sure thing and require no prep.
She will start eating something else before you know it.
