As technology improves, so does our appetite to have the “latest.” Upgrading iPods, cell phones and blackberrys is pretty common. The amounts of gadgets we acquire seems to increase faster and faster as the years go on, which leads me to an important question: Have we turned into a disposable society? I say “YES!” And, let’s remember that along with the gift of innovation comes great responsibility (sounds like Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but you get the idea).

But what if the cause of all these colds is not our kids' friends at school or the germ-laden grocery cart they touched? Perhaps what's making them sick is our very own homes. It’s chore time. I scan the scarred boundaries, ready to dive into the trenches and win the war against soap scum. Hearing my battle cry, the children snap on their helmets and prepare for combat. CHARGE! . . . straight for the couch and morning cartoons. It seems my troops would rather kick back for some R&R than join me in the Battle of the Sludge.


Use a zippered mesh laundry bag for each child to throw socks and underwear into so they can be easily returned to the right person.

 

Because we, as moms, spend a lot of time chauffeuring our children around, we often feel as though we live out of our cars. As a result, our vehicles are cluttered with various necessities that are difficult to find amongst the mess. Here are some ideas on how to clean and organize your car in order to make life on the road more bearable.
