There’s nothing like those old Christmas classics, movies you want to watch and stories you want to read again and again with your whole family. This year, I got into the Christmas spirit a little early. I was recently invited to a sneak preview of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Wang Theater in downtown Boston, and all I can say is that it’s going to be a great show. From the costumes (the Grinch is as realistic looking as he is cranky) to the wonderful songs (especially the impressive voice of little Cindy Lou Who), the performance truly brings the story to life in bright and beautiful detail.
The show makes its way to Boston from Broadway, and if the preview is any indication, it will be an instant success. The countless kids at the showing giggled and gasped in delight, and, in true Boston fashion, before we exited, the Grinch was presented with a Celtics jersey to welcome him to the neighborhood. Whether or not your kids already know the story of the Grinch, they’ll find a lot to love at this performance, and the whole family will be humming the songs for weeks. The show will be playing at the Wang Theater from November 26 to December 28, and it is definitely one family favorite you won’t want to miss.
