My New 6th Grader (1 viewing) (1) Guest
Whether it be selecting a pre-school, starting kindergarten, switching schools because of relocation, or starting at a bigger middle school, transitions during the school years need to be handled delicately to avoid unnecessary drama. Share information with other parents about choosing a school, first day jitters, elementary or middle school transitions, private versus public schools, and keeping summer vacations a time for learning.

My New 6th Grader 7 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm having a horrible time with my youngest daughter. Its breaking my heart. She started 6th grade(middle school) on Monday and was terrified. I finally got her out the door only with my husband in tow. He stayed with her at the school for about an hour with her.
The second day she would not go. She had an awful fit. Throwing up and screaming. I called the school counselor and we met with him this morning. She is having anxiety attacks over her locker and finding her classes.
I went with her to her locker to try and help her open it to only have the bell ring and be rushed off to her class by security.
I dread tomorrow morning. The fits are unbearable. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated. Thank you Shawna
