I need a little advice ladies. Max has stopped walking. Here is a little history for you.
Last Thursday he woke up from his nap and would not put any weight or pressure on his left leg. So he crawled. This lasted about 20 minutes and Rey and I thought that the leg was maybe asleep. Then Friday morning (7th) he again would not walk on his left leg. He was up at 7 am and at 10 he still wasn't using it. I tried massage, made sure nothing was swollen, red or had a fever. Called Max's pediatricion and took him in at 11 am. By the time we got to the doc's office Max was walking with the very slightest limp. Doc said keep an eye on it and let him know if it happens again.
Well, last night we took the kids to play at the park. Max and another little boy collided and fell down. No big thing, brush off the dirt and go on. Well, Max just cried and cried. He only wanted his daddy and he would not walk anywhere. It was late so we decided to come home and put the kids to bed. Max would only sleep a couple of hours at a time and would not let me comfort him, only Rey. This morning Max was up at 6:30 and still has not taken a step. I went to the ER care (recommended by the pediatricion) and they did X-rays. They came back with everything looking fine. Now we have an appointment with an orthopedist Monday afternoon.
Has anyone else had any experience like this before? If so, what happened and how was the problem solved?
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I don't want to scare you or anything but that is what happend to Mandy when she started with the Arthritis. She just stoped walking when she would be off of it for awhile (like in the morning or after her nap) Then after a while she would walk but limp. We took her for xrays and they found nothing. Then they sent us to every Dr. out there and finally our last stop was the Rhumatologist and that is when they said they think she has arthritis in her knee.
Just don't let it go, go to every different Dr. they send you to until you get an answer. Good luck! I hope they find the problem. I know it hurts to see your little one in pain or just not knowing what is wrong to help them.
Keep us updated!!

Carla,
Did Mandy have pain or seem to have pain if you touched her knee or leg? I was actually thinking about you when I posted and was hoping you might have some piece of advice. I am okay with the arthritis, if that's what it is. My sister does therapy with my niece because she has it. The thing is that Hannah (my niece) always had pain, swelling, redness, and slight fevers. Max is not showing any signs of pain, swelling, redness nor fever. That's why I am so worried. If you tell me that Mandy didn't have any pain and such then I can talk to the orthopedist about the arthritis and seeing a rhumatologist immediately.
Thanks for your help!!

No Mandy never had any redness or fever, there are different types of Arthritis. The type that Mandy has they most likely grow out of. There are types where they get fever and redness I think that is a more severe case. She would say it hurt her if we really try to stretch her leg but just a touch she really didn't complain about to much. Her knee was a little swollen but she is really chunky so I never was able to even tell that it was swollen. The Dr. pointed it out to me. But it really just came out of nowhere. She would say every once in a while boo boo but she was 16 months old and I didn't see anything by her knee so I didn't think anything of it. But one morning she just fell to the floor when I took her out of her crib and she just started to crawl. Now that is when she has the most pain, When she rests it for long periods of time (in the morning, after nap, long car rides) Good luck with everything and I am here to talk whenever you need me. If you have any questions or anything just let me know.
