What year did you start blogging? 2008
In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have?
I am also a full-time student going back to school to get my Certificate in Paralegal Studies. I am a single Mom of 3 boys.
Why did you start your blog?
I wanted a site where I could talk about Motherhood and connect with other parents and grandparents in the blogosphere. I have met some amazing bloggers and PR reps, in addition to many others. My blog gives me a forum to share blessings and challenges that I experience in my family. It also gives me a place to express my creativity through food.
What advice do you have for those starting out?

What year did you start blogging? I started my site in 1995 as a message board but turned it into a blog in 2008.
In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have?
I am currently the Internet Marketing Manager for AdvancePierre Food. Consumers may know us as Fast Fixin'. I also currently do a lot of consulting for brands.
Why did you start your blog?
I have a passion for helping people. Especially when it comes to saving money. I started my blog as a ministry. Both my site and my classes are free. I never thought that my once small site could be making such a big difference in peoples lives.

In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have?
I am the office manager for my dad’s insurance office.
Why did you start your blog?
I was searching how to make boutique hair bows when I stumbled across a tutorial on a mommy blog. I began reading some of her other posts and decided I could do the same thing. The next day I bought my domain and got to it.
What advice do you have for those starting out?
Be patient and work hard. If you want to be successful, you have to think of your blog as a business and not a scrapbook.

What year did you start blogging? I started blogging at the end of 2008, but really didn't do much with my blog until early 2009. I never dreamed it would grow into what it has become today.

Being a wife, mother (to two kids and four cats) and blogger is my full-time job, and it is a job that I love!

In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have?
I don't have a paid job outside of motherhood. Before I got pregnant with the twins I worked as a clerk in a very busy hospital pre-op department. I loved it. It was never boring, and I was needed. The downside was 12 hour shifts and the fact that I was not available for my family when they needed me. A twin pregnancy was just the wake up call that I needed. I have plenty on my plate without an outside job though. With kids in three different schools and two still at home I do a lot of schedule juggling and running around. I also lead a very lively women's Bible study and teach Sunday School.

What Year Did Your Start Blogging? I started blogging back when there was something called Yahoo! 360 and I didn’t even know I was blogging. I think that was around 2005. My real blog began in 2007.

Besides blogging, which basically a full time job, I also work at our elementary school as a duty and teacher’s aide.
Why did you start your blog?
I started blogging to journal my frustrations and struggles with trying to conceive our youngest daughter, which later turned into a pregnancy journal.
What advice do you have for those starting out?
Be yourself, and don’t be hard on yourself. Don’t give up! Blogging can be hard and time consuming but if you're committed you can do it.

In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have? Wow… being a Mom and blogging is enough, but I had five minutes to spare. Those five minutes are filled as a Replenishment Manager for Waggin’ Train, a dog treat company, and attending college for my degree in Marketing. And, since my job and school only take up two of those five minutes, I decided to co-create a twice-weekly web show, CreateChatter™ TV, a platform for entrepreneurs, mom and dad inventors, and authors to showcase their brand to a live audience.

Along with everything a stay at home mom and wife entails, I am youth leader along with my husband for our church's youth group as well as the dance team leader. Non-paying in the finance department, being a mom, wife, youth leader and dance leader, pay in so many other ways much more important than money.

In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have?
That is all I have time for, oh yeah and don’t forget being a wife. Those three things are all encompassing and I couldn’t imagine what life would be like without them!
Why did you start your blog? I started blogging to keep my family updated on the kids and introduce them to our newest addition at the time, our new daughter Abby. Then I added complaining about how many piles of dirty laundry a family of five could produce.

Do not give up. If you want to blog, go with it. Be natural, be yourself, be organized, have fun!

Be true to yourself. There is a lot of pressure to fit your blog into a niche, but if you don't fit a certain mold, that's ok.

Just write. Write because you like it, share your story. Be consistent in what you do, and genuinely interact with others, no matter what your goals are.

My advice to bloggers just starting out is to have a clear goal and focus for your site. Don’t be afraid to do what YOU want to do with your space!

I find it amazing that through my blog I’ve had the opportunity to interview Maria Shriver and other celebrities. If you had told me in college that one day my writing would bring me an opportunity to interview Maria Shriver, I wouldn’t have believed you.
|
Find a happy medium between your blogging life, and your real life. Your real life should inspire you to blog, and without it, you have nothing!
