What year did you start blogging? I started blogging in July of 2008.
Other than blogging and being a mother, do you work? Yes, I am a full time biological science lab technician.
Why did you start your blog? I was introduced to the world of blogging through a friend. I began reading other blogs, fell in love, and wanted to comment and participate. I began writing about my favorite kid-friendly and mom approved products and quickly learned that I loved the creativity involved in blogging. I was hooked!
What advice do you have for those starting out? My advice to bloggers just starting out is to have a clear goal and focus for your site. Don’t be afraid to do what YOU want to do with your space!
Name a few challenges you see or have experienced in the blogosphere. One challenge I have faced is the stereotype of product review bloggers. My business partner and I hope to dispel the stigma of the genre by starting a blog conference geared towards educating the review blogger and brand representatives in order to build mutually beneficial relationships.
What are your favorite and least favorite part(s) about blogging? My favorite part of blogging is developing both online and offline relationships with other bloggers! My least favorite part of blogging is deadlines! As a Mom who also works outside the home, deadlines are my nemesis.
What is the wackiest opportunity you have gotten since you started your blog? There have been so many great opportunities, but I think the wackiest thing I have done was attach myself to a Velcro Wall in order to win a conference sponsorship….it worked!
What are your top three blogging tips?
- Be true to yourself.
- Be honest with your readers.
- Buy your own domain!
What are you hoping will happen for you and your blog within the next year? I have big plans! I am hoping our conference, Reviewer’s Retreat, becomes the go-to resource for product review bloggers and brands looking to connect with our genre. I would also like to participate in more speaking engagements in order to be an advocate for the review blogging niche.

I have so much admiration for Bridgette and all she does! She is a mom, maintains an awesome blog, full-time job and building a supportive blogging network. She's a good role model for all of us. (And I'm not just saying that since she gave me a shout out, even though I am blushing.)
