What year did you start blogging? I started my site in 1995 as a message board but turned it into a blog in 2008.
In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have?
I am currently the Internet Marketing Manager for AdvancePierre Food. Consumers may know us as Fast Fixin'. I also currently do a lot of consulting for brands.
Why did you start your blog?
I have a passion for helping people. Especially when it comes to saving money. I started my blog as a ministry. Both my site and my classes are free. I never thought that my once small site could be making such a big difference in peoples lives.
What advice do you have for those starting out?
Find your passion and write about it. Be yourself and don't let anyone tell you different. Many people start blogs for many different reasons. Some as a hobby and some as a business. You will be more successful when you stay confident in yourself. Get active in Social Media and don't be afraid to try new technology.
Name a few challenges you see or have experienced in the blogosphere.
Challenges? Where do I start lol. First of all I had to get away from thinking I had to run with the "Big Dogs" and remember why I started blogging in the first place. #2 Getting people to understand just because I'm frugal doesn't mean I'm cheap. (My biggest guilty pleasure is shopping, have you seen my closet?) #3 Once my blog formed into a business, getting brands to understand my worth. That bloggers are not the same as traditional media.

What are your favorite and least favorite part(s) about blogging?
My favorite part about blogging is being able to help my readers as well as my local community. I love meeting people with the same passion that I have and sharing experiences and helping each other along the way. I love being able to create personal relationships with the brands that I work with. My least favorite would be not having more time to work on it.
What are your top three blogging tips?
- Blog about what you are passionate about
- Use Social Media
- Give credit where credit is due
What are you hoping will happen for you and your blog within the next year?
Several things:
- I would love to take my coupon classes national
- to help my local community more
- eventually work from home
