What year did you start blogging? February 2011
In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have?
I am the office manager for our family-owned home improvement company, BC Builds Texas.
Why did you start your blog?
Well, as my “where we began story” explains, a couple years ago we lost everything and struggled to get back on our feet. Because of the economy we decided to combine households with my in-laws. From then on, we have worked hard to live comfortably while saving money everywhere we can.
So, when I began following a couple different Mom blogs, it hit me that this would be a great opportunity to not only try out new products, but to help others! I didn’t know how much I was going to LOVE it!
What advice do you have for those starting out?
Find a mentor – don’t go it alone. Find out what works and what doesn’t. Check blogs for Blogger Resources – I know that I have a tab for Blogger Resources that has TONS of advice, and I know many other blogs offer the same thing!
Always remember the following:
- Spelling, grammar, and language.
- When asking for products to review, remember to ASK, never demand.
- Do your homework, find the best niche for yourself and make goals.
Name a few challenges you see or have experienced in the blogosphere.
Staying up to date on all the new regulations! It is crazy; you have to be sure you use the correct wording and documentation… just to cover your own butt and to not get in trouble! All the while trying to grow, ha, ha, ha!!!
What are your favorite and least favorite part(s) about blogging?
I love that it is MY OWN! I write from the heart.
I love all the people I have met through blogging. My readers are amazing and so much fun. I ask daily questions on my Facebook page, and it is so much fun to hear the answers.
I am also so blessed to be a part of such an amazing Blogger Community. Knowing that there is always someone to lend a hand with advice is awesome!
What is the wackiest opportunity you have gotten since you started your blog?
Ohhh, Gee… I am not sure… hmmm. I was asked to review cloth sanitary napkins… LOL.
What are your top three blogging tips?
- Always be honest.
- Check for spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Always ask and link back when using information from another Blogger.
What are you hoping will happen for you and your blog within the next year?
I just want to continue growing and to be able to offer my readers bigger and better giveaways, while finding new ways to SAVE MONEY!!!
