What year did you start blogging? 2004

In addition to blogging and being a mother, what other jobs do you have? Other than being a full time blogger, let’s see… I am a cook, a maid, a taxi, and a referee. Being a work at home mommy, my work is never done. When I am not doing reviews, emails or helping with outreaches, I like to help other bloggers with things that they may need with their blog (ie: graphics, tips, pitches, or even just to be someone to talk to about questions that they have regarding their blog and how they can grow).

Why did you start your blog? When I started it in 2004, it started out as a venting release for just about everything from trying to conceive, helping other women chart for fertility, random thoughts, then when I got pregnant, I started randomly writing about baby products that I either received as gifts or things that I found while shopping that I thought were neat.

What advice do you have for those starting out? Do not give up. If you want to blog, go with it. Be natural, be yourself, be organized, have fun! At first, I used to crank out numerous posts within a day, but now I have a set schedule that I live by each day. Always make sure to schedule time for yourself.
Name a few challenges you see or have experienced in the blogosphere. Some of my biggest challenges that I have personally faced are time management and cliques. For me, what works, is physically organizing my daily time. This is organized for my blog itself, working on emails, personal time and I even schedule in my work out time. I used to work daily just as things came to mind, but before I knew it, the day was at an end. Another thing that is a challenge for just about any blogger are ‘cliques’. There will always be ‘cliques’ in the world, and this happens in the blogosphere as well. Stand out and be yourself.

What are your favorite and least favorite part(s) about blogging? By far, my favorite part of blogging has been the amazing friendships and business relationships that I have made. Some of the best friends I have in my life have been met through the blogosphere. I became a stay at home Mom 3 years ago and my blog has allowed me to keep those company interactions meanwhile being home with my kids and being there for my family. Before I organized my daily time, I would have to say that my least favorite part of blogging used to be the time consumption.

What is the wackiest opportunity you have gotten since you started your blog? I haven’t really gotten any wacky opportunities to date, but I do get a lot of pitches for how to spruce up your love life and pregnancy/maternity/baby pitches (I don’t have a baby), but it does make me giggle when I get them.

What are your top three blogging tips?

Be yourself.
Stand out.
Be original.

My 4th and main blogging tip is not to give up. If you want to blog, then go with it! If you don’t have faith in yourself with anything that you do, then it makes it harder for other bloggers and companies to have faith in you as well.

What are you hoping will happen for you and your blog within the next year? I would love to gain more friendships and company relationships. Over the years, I have met the best friends and worked with some amazing companies. I hope to grow my blog even more and work on some bigger projects this year. I love a good challenge!
